Lucas Gafford appreciates Mr. Jamin Lynch, a teacher at INDEPENDENCE HIGH SCHOOL in San Jose, CA

Lieber Grüsse Herr Lynch, Happy teacher appreciation week! I wanted to use this opportunity to tell you what you’ve meant to me these past three years. You’ve impacted me in such a positive way and changed my outlook on what a teacher is and can be. You’re one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. From your positivity when everything is going wrong, to your grading system, to the way you teach with music and real-world scenarios, to how you encourage interaction between classmates to improve, it’s always been a joy to be a part of your class. I appreciate all the little things you do as a teacher to make each class exciting and fun. I will admit, I’ve slacked as an AP German student. However, it was never because of you as a teacher. Distance learning just didn’t work out for me, and I lost interest in a lot of things, learning German included. I appreciate all you’ve done to transition into an online format, as well as having the patience to deal with everything. My dad told me about how good of a coach you were, and I can see that. You’re persistent, positive, and you see the best in every student. I was extremely disheartened when GAPP was canceled. However, I hope in the future it can resume once again for future students. Sincerely, Lucas Gafford
