Kaylie Simmons appreciates Ms. Ava Chiao, a teacher at INDEPENDENCE HIGH SCHOOL in San Jose, CA

Hi Ms. Chiao, I would just like to appreciate all your time and energy that you put into both the class office and in class. I remember when I was in your 5th-period biology class at the beginning of freshman year, I was kind of scared of you because you had high expectations for the class and got frustrated and mad with one of the bad kids in class which was understandable because they were being stubborn and you just want the best for your students. It was fun having you as my teacher during that small amount of time. Thank you for being a great advisor for our cabinet too. I know that it can get frustrating when we aren’t all on the same page, but we still manage to push through and accomplish many things. I am so glad that you are one of our advisors in both freshman year and this year because in freshman year, our cabinet was so overwhelmed with everything, and we didn’t really know what to do, we looked like lost ducks, but thankfully you and Ms. Banack were there to help guide us. You even made us snacks when we had meetings during lunch, which was delicious and very kind of you. I hope that our class can be more successful next school with more fundraisers year so that we can have trips with our classmates. I can’t wait to actually have a normal school year on campus so that we can have cabinet meetings in person instead of over Zoom. Thank you for everything and talk soon!! -Kaylie Simmons
