HI MS. WESTLAKE!!!!! I just wanted to say thank you. You are legitimately one of my favorite teachers here at Independence and one that I will definitely miss when I leave. You were one of the few adult figures I could really talk to about anything, as well as one of the only ones that I could just talk and always laugh with. I’m sure you know this, but every time we see each other, you always yell “KATIE TRAN!” And honestly, every time you do that it brightens my day. I remember one day I was feeling super down because I just bombed a test during 4th period. It eventually was lunchtime, and so I went straight to K-33 to attend the UNICEF meeting. I was one of the first people to come in, and you immediately called out my name. That right there was enough to make me smile and it meant a lot to me that day. I know distance learning can be tough, and I hope you’re pushing through it! It’s almost the end of the year, and I'll do my best to visit one last time when it’s safe to :) Thanks again for everything, Katie Tran
