Hi Ms. Roberts, I hope this letter finds you well. This is Ethan Cheng, one of your students from 2017-2018. I want to take some time and tell you that I appreciate your constant efforts teaching PE here at Independence. Your class was a fun time to get out of the stressful classroom environment and mentally reset for the rest of my long day. When I was a freshman, I was really nervous to talk to new people but, through your class, I was able to get to know more people and gain more confidence. It definitely helped me during my track and cross country season, being able to get out and move/stretch my legs instead of being tucked in a classroom. I had the choice to wave PE but, I am really glad that I ended up not doing so. For my senior year, I was really motivated to take on a leadership role, and I was able to be elected as ASB Boys Athletics. It's a real shame that I wasn’t able to help out at sports games and be a helping hand. This was an interesting quote that Mr. Logan said today in class. He said, “There is no doubt that a teacher will forever impact upon a child’s life. The question is, will that impact be a positive one or a negative one?” This quote really reflects the impact that you had on me as you pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to gain more confidence in meeting more people. This definitely helped me make more connections and enabled me to pursue bigger things such as ASB this year. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day! Sincerely, Ethan Cheng | ASB Boys Athletics
