Ethan Cheng appreciates Mr. Jason Holleman, a teacher at INDEPENDENCE HIGH SCHOOL in SAN JOSE, CA

Hi Mr. Holleman, I hope this letter finds you well. This is Ethan Cheng, one of your students from 2019. I would like to take some time and tell you that I appreciate your constant efforts in teaching PE here at Independence. Your class was a fun time to get out of the stressful classroom environment and mentally reset for the rest of my long day. It definitely helped me during my track and cross country season, being able to get out and move/stretch my legs instead of being tucked in a classroom. I had the choice to wave PE but, I am really glad that I ended up not doing so. For my senior year, I was really motivated to take on a leadership role, and I was able to be elected as ASB Boys Athletics. It's a real shame that I wasn’t able to help out at sports games and be a helping hand.  This was an interesting quote that Mr. Logan said today in class. He said,  “There is no doubt that a teacher will forever impact upon a child’s life. The question is, will that impact be a positive one or a negative one?” This quote really reflects what you’ve been doing for the past years at independence.  I still remember our conversation about your past experience running track and field in college and your 400 meters PR. Let's hope I can make CCS this year for the 800! Thanks for being an inspiration and putting your energy out there each day. Take care and keep getting those gains! Sincerely, Ethan Cheng | ASB Boys Athletics
