Clarissa Calantoc appreciates Ms. Elizabeth A Daniell, a teacher at INDEPENDENCE HIGH SCHOOL in San Jose, CA

Hi Ms. Daniell, I’ve had your class for English for my freshman and sophomore year. I remember coming to your class freshman year, and I was so intimidated because I thought you would be a strict or mean teacher, but I started to love coming to your class every day. I honestly learned so much in your class. In a way, you inspired me to consider teaching as one of my future careers. I saw how much you loved teaching your students and your class gave me a sense of conformity. I rarely talked to you one on one because I was a shy student, but I regret it now because you are one of my favorite teachers. Your humor and passion for things made me feel joy walking into your classroom. One thing I learned in your class that really helped me is the unit we learned about college and future careers. It gave me an insight into what I want to do in the future, and I learned so much about things that will help when I’m older. I appreciate how understanding and helpful you are to students. Whether it was writing a rough draft and having to revise it because I didn’t get a 36 or higher or getting excited to read Romeo and Juliet, I always knew your class would be fun. Thank you for everything you do for your students!
