Armaan Joshi appreciates Mr. Thompson Ly, a teacher at INDEPENDENCE HIGH SCHOOL in San Jose, CA

Dear Coach Thompson, I hope you are having a good day today and have been doing well. I am writing to you because it is Teachers Appreciation week, and although you were not my teacher, you were still my coach, and I feel that the two are very similar. First of all, I wanted to thank you for the hard work and dedication you brought to the team and acknowledge how you had completely changed the atmosphere of the team once you had joined. You gave the team goals and dreams we did not realize we had, needed, or wanted. You made it very clear that we could do great things, and although the season didn’t go as planned for track, during that time, it truly helped me and some of my fellow athletes to keep pushing forward. I remember during our Cross Country banquet, you were the one who had given a speech right before announcing who would be the Outstanding Sophomore, and upon learning that it was me, those words truly felt very special to me, and it had also made me realize that I could do a lot more in this sport than I thought I could have, so I have you to thank for that. Even though you are not currently a coach for track, I still remember some of our goals from the previous season, and I, along with some others, are trying our best to make those goals come true. So, I say this with full sincerity, and thank you for everything. Take Care, Armaan Joshi
