Hi Ms. Torres. I want to express my gratitude to you because on the first day of class, you have shown that this is an accepting environment and that you have made the atmosphere of your class (even if it is online) a comfortable one. I remember being in awe by the fact that you asked us to include our pronouns (and obviously tell more along those lines about ourselves) because I have not seen any teachers do that on the first day of class or even in class before. Especially since it is distance learning for the first time, you were the first teacher who made an extra effort to do so. I also like how you understand that this is a tough time for both the students and the teachers so you don’t make work due within such a short period of time. That has helped me a lot since I feel like I do not need to rush the assignment. I also like your efforts of engaging us (i.e slap or pass). All in all, I really appreciate the fact that you’re my teacher this year and that you made American gov/econ (government is one of the subjects that I am not completely confident in) a class that I do not need to constantly worry about and stress over so much.
